Tamlyn Munslow

Tamlyn joined IDS as the Research Officer on Impact and Innovation, working across IDS' six research themes to better understand and reflect the wider impact on evidence-based policy.

She is committed to working to influence the policy debate that surrounds effective measurement in development; in articulating the assumptions on which development interventions are based – assumptions about the way humans interact, organisations develop, and the political system operates – as a means to enhance the opportunity for accountability and learning for inclusive development policy.

Her enthusiasm for this role builds upon previous field experience in Tanzania and India, where she carried out programme monitoring and evaluation for three local government accountability programmes. She developed quantitative and qualitative tools for routine monitoring and evaluation, as well as produced and shared a transparent learning strategy for collaboration amongst local government and other civil society organisations.

With an academic background in Geography (BA) and International Development Research (MSc), she approaches impact evaluation through a multitude of perspectives; learning from a diverse range of quantitative and qualitative methods.
