Tim is Itad’s Director, Strategy. He is responsible for overseeing implementation of the company’s strategy and ensuring that effective business planning and performance reporting systems are in place.

He has 17 years’ experience in international development with a particular focus on improving economic opportunities through private sector development and improved economic policy. Tim is a highly experienced team leader and project director with a considerable track record in the design, management and evaluation of international development programmes in over 25 countries.

Recent work has focused on working with businesses and international development agencies to facilitate market development and to measure the developmental impact of their work. He has recently developed an innovative results measurement handbook for DFID / World Bank GEMS M4P programmes in Nigeria and led a synthesis of M4P evaluation approaches and methods for DFID. He is Directing several longitudinal evaluations for DFID, including FoodTrade ESA and a rural roads programme in Nepal.

Tim was recently the deputy team leader of an evaluation of budget support in Tanzania. He is providing M&E support to several DFID agricultural development programmes, including the Food Retail Industry Challenge Fund (FRICH) and DFID Ethiopia’s Private Enterprise Programme (PEPE). He has in-depth experience in the application of the DCED Standard and a range of quantitative and qualitative evaluation techniques.
